In June of (2005) we
applied to the Regional District of Central Okanagan for a zoning amendment
from RU2 (10 acre min.) to
RU6 (5 acre min.) on our property. The
Regional District indicated that they would not support a rezoning without a
community plan being completed. The RU6 zoning does not increase the density
as the number of homes remains unchanged (RU2 allows 2 houses), but it does
remove the right for
Intensive Agriculture, which allows large scale hog & poultry farms. We
feel that the Trepanier area should have a planning study completed to
understand and protect the interests of the Trepanier residents.
It is our intention to
gather input from our neighbours and to ask if you support our request to
have the Regional District initiate a planning study. Feel free to phone or
email me with any questions, comments or concerns you may have. Please take
a few minutes to answer our
Residents Poll.
