Director Central Okanagan West Electoral Area

From my travels around the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area, you the people have expressed clearly that you want good representation with the Regional government and someone who has the experience to work with that government.

I believe I have the desire to offer good representation and the experience to do the job. My experience has been gathered over the past eight years through attendance at Regional District of Central Okanagan board meetings, holding various committee seats as both chairman and as a director and working with various government offices.

My experience with the Emergency Preparedness team has allowed me to work with people at all levels of government for this area while encouraging neighbouring communities to work together effectively.

Working with the Westside Road Issues Committee has helped me to learn how the various levels of government and business operate within one electoral area.

In short: I believe I have the desire, and enough knowledge of the system to be effective as your representative as a Director on the Board of the Central Okanagan Regional District.

Since expressing my interest in running as a Regional Director in our Electoral Area six months ago, the most frequently asked question has been:

Jim, if you were elected how would that affect me?

It would mean you have a director who lives in the Westside Electoral Area and understands the needs of the communities.

A director that knows the issues of concern in the rural area. A director who will continue to follow up until a satisfactory conclusion is reached. A director who will make sure you have a voice at the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

I will listen to get information and facts, and wherever possible, work with people to build community solutions and to champion those solutions which will serve the community well.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

It is my belief that my business life and volunteer experiences provide me with a solid base to serve the community well. The encouragement I have received from the communities of the area has given me the desire and ability to represent the community and achieve results. It is my hope that the people I have worked with over the past eight years will have faith that I will continue to work for them as I have been doing.
